RISC-KIT case study work advancing understanding on the cultural phenomena underlying climate change public policy
FP7-projects RISC-KIT and BASE case studies supporting German and U.S. studies
RISC-KIT's partner Ecologic and IASS (Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies) organised a session entiteld "Social Sciences in Coastal and ocean Policy and Resilience of Coastal Communities - What in the World is Going on in America?" by Michael K. Orbach, aimed at furhter understanding cultural fenomena underlying climate change public policy.
Professor Orbach presentation draw on studies undertaken by Ecologic Institute (Germany) and Duke Universit (U.S.), including those deriving form the European and international RISC-KIT and BASE case studies which "contribute to the formulation of risk reduction and/ or adaptation measures and policy advise for spatially differentiated approaches mirroring the socio-cultural diversity across European Member States".
