RISC-KIT at the 36th International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) World Congress
Ap van Dongeren, RISC-KIT's coordinator, will organise a special session on Coastal Threats in Europe at the IAHR conference in The Hague, on June 30th 2015. The session will be a joint effort of the projects PEARL, ASTARTE, RISES-AM and RISCKIT.
The global focus on water has increased rapidly in recent years. Many water issues are high on the political agenda, whether it concerns the lack of access to safe water and sanitation or the increase in water-related disasters due to floods and droughts. Hydro-environment engineering and research is more important than ever. The next IAHR World Congress, that will be held at the World Forum in The Hague, the Netherlands, will focus on discussing and presenting the advancements in the aforementioned issues. The event will take place from 28 June to 3 July 2015. The 36th IAHR World Congress will provide special emphasis on cross-cutting themes related to Deltas of the Future, looking at what happens upstream, linking hydro-environment research to engineering practice, and reaching out to the developing world.
