UAlg in the Popular Media

Further dissemination activities from the CIMA team raise the profile of RISC-KIT in Portugal.

The University of the Algarve has been popping up regularly in the Popular Science media recently. Dr. Oscar Ferreira, RISC-KIT's WP5 leader, was featured in 90 Seconds of Science last month. Oscar spoke about his work on coastal risk, including the contributions RISC-KIT has made to coastal risk management in the Algarve, Portugal.

90 Seconds of Science is a short programme that features on the Portuguese radio station Antena 1 twice daily. Scientists are invited to speak about their interests for 90 seconds and themes range from the social science, to pure sciences and humanities.

If you missed the broadcast, you can hear it again (in Portuguese) on the 90 Seconds of Science website

The University of Algarve (UAlg) has just launched the 10th edition of the institutional magazine «UALGzine». Every year, this edition, under the motto "Research and Development made in Algarve", announces the different Research and Development and Research Centers, as well as its researchers and R & D projects at the Algarve Academy.

The 10th Edition also features a contribution from Oscar Ferreira, where he speaks about coastal dynamics and coastal risk. You can view the contribution (in Portuguese) by clicking the image below.

These two contributions add to the previously reported appearance of the UAlg team in the magazine Science and Technology. These Portuguese partners are real ambassadors for the RISC-KIT project.
